CASA SANTUARIO - EASY - AFFORDABLE - FAST!!

This project  was completed in just THREE MONTHS! The owners were assisted by wonderful local craftsmen who are true masons and dedicated workers.

A very simple transformation can be achieved with a fresh coat of paint - witness the dramatic change from white to vibrant color as we witness the makeover.

In Ajijic we live outside year round and do much of our entertaining on "covered terraces" also known as "loggias". This wonderful space is so important to enjoying your life in Ajijic.

Here we created the room-effect outdoors by filling in the east wall and enlarging the fireplace to make it a real focal point. And what a difference the color has made to give warmth to this outdoor space.

Let's continue with the exterior space and take a look at the expansive garden and pool area. Since we use the gardens every day, we spent considerable time cleaning up the grounds and enhancing the space with dramatic new plants.

The owners found this wonderful tree while on a trip to Morelia and quickly realized it would become a focal part of the gardens.

The pool area becomes quite stunning with the addition of new plants selected from a variety of local nurseries.

Let's move on to the inside of the house and see what wonderful goings-on happened there! You will be amazed at the difference that occurred almost over night. Not only did the color change on the walls, but the furniture was reupholstered giving a very different look and feel to the room.  A dated, dark room suddenly becomes fresh and vibrant!

Let's look next at the kitchen. What started out as a very dark kitchen ends up with a very fresh look with a creamy enamel paint. The floors looked as if they might need to be replaced, but a good cleaning was all that was required to bring those tiles back up to their original beauty.

Once again, you can see that color was added to a previously bland space, floors were cleaned, Cabinets and center island were updated with modern cabinets. Notice how the beautiful tile work on the walls is now more noticeable.

MASTER BEDROOM BEFORE MAKEOVER

On the main floor there is a lovely master bedroom, but it needed some updating to make the beauty shine out. Notice the large, invented window. A new window installed to provide lots of fresh air to the bedroom. The tile floors were stained and dirty. A little elbow grease did the job!

Let's step inside the Master Bath to see what a few simple updates did to improve the look of the room. Dramatic lighting, and new windows improved brightness of the space. The original floor and wall tiles were cleaned and beautified.

An upper room which was used as a guest bedroom has been converted into a bed-sitting room for ultimate utility.
