On any given day when you walk into the Ajijic Branch of
Lloyd-Actinver you will see this lovely
lady sitting at her desk. Busy in every sense of the word, Aurora always has
time for a word or two with her customers. As the Manager of the Ajijic branch
and now Regional Director for both Ajijic
and Chapala Branches of the newly integrated
Actinver-Lloyd, it is amazing how she remembers so many of us by name and
can relate to her clients on a very personal level. But this is indeed the
essence of this very spiritual, highly intelligent woman.
Born
in the small agricultural village of Tuxcacuesco, Aurora continues to this day
to remain true to her roots. From an early age, Aurora became involved in
sustaining the environment and making a difference in the lives of those around
her: teaching organic farming; spearheading a woman's reading group; planting trees to stop erosion; assisting in fund-raising
ventures for the betterment of our community in the way of new schools,
renovation of the Auditorio, restoration of the Chapala Railway Station, working
to preserve our beloved Lake Chapala...
Aurora's focus is on working with people to effect change. Not only will you see
the professional side of Aurora while she carries on her duties at Lloyd-Actinver,
but you will often see Aurora out in the community, sleeves rolled up as she
works alongside school children and others in the
Lakeside community-- cleaning up the roadside or planting yet another tree. The
jacaranda and guimulche trees that we see adorning the highway from Chapala
toward Ajijic were planted about 14 years ago. Yet others were planted on the
highway heading from Chapala to Guadalajara. As we see the lovely purple blooms
of the jacaranda, we can remember the work and dedication of the
many Lakeside residents who work along side Aurora quietly effecting change in
our community.
